Born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, into a musical family, Fernando Urdaneta is a dynamic and versatile artist with over 25 years of experience in the music industry.

Renowned for his multi-instrumental expertise and deep passion for music, he has built a distinguished career as a performer, composer, and producer. Fernando holds a law degree, earned in 2003, along with a master’s in labor law. However, music has always been his true calling.

As a contemporary guitarist, bassist, ukulele player, drummer, and vocalist, Fernando has performed with Mermelada Bunch, Voz Veis, Nauta, and many others. Additionally, he has worked as a stage director for world-renowned international music festivals Hell n Heaven, Vive Latino, Cabdelabrum, and renown bands as 311, Stryper, Suicidal Tendencies, Overkill, Rawayana, Natalia Jimenez, Pandora, Melendi, Fonseca, Rosario, The Wailers, Los Cafres, Hombres G, Megadeth, Testament, Fear Factory, Black Flag, overseeing their live performances and ensuring a seamless stage experience.

His contributions to the Latin music scene have earned him prestigious awards, including Mara de Oro (2015, 2017), Mara de Platino (2017), and Orquídea de Platino (2012). He was also nominated for the Pepsi Music Awards in 2014.

Over the course of his career, Fernando has graced major music festivals in the USA, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, and Chile, bringing his eclectic style and musical versatility to audiences worldwide. In addition to his performing career, Fernando has been a dedicated educator at Teora Music School for over 3 years, starting on January 11, 2022.

His approach to music education combines classical and modern techniques, creating a curriculum that supports students at all levels. Fernando’s teaching philosophy is centered on helping students overcome the challenges of the beginner stage, fostering a love for music, and guiding them through the rewarding journey of becoming musicians.

As a musical director, he has also played a key role in energizing the students' and teachers' bands at Teora Music School, offering creative direction, inspiration, and a dynamic approach to their musical development. Fernando is deeply passionate about shaping as many students as he can, believing in the transformative power of music and the importance of guiding future musicians to find their unique voice.

Teora Music School’s contemporary band program, under Fernando’s leadership, has been successfully exported to prestigious schools, including Saint Anthony of Padua in The Woodlands. Fernando has taken on a central leadership role in this initiative, ensuring the program’s success and nurturing young talent within these educational environments.
