Description
SYNOPSIS:
Over a thousand years ago, the demigod Maui stole the heart of Te Fiti, the goddess of creation, which led to the rise of Te Kā, a fiery demon, and the loss of the Heart to the sea. Fearful of Te Kā’s wrath, the people of Motunui ceased voyaging, and Maui disappeared. In the present day, the Ocean chooses Moana to restore the Heart. Despite her parents’ wishes for her to remain on the island, Moana feels a deep calling to the sea. Encouraged by her grandmother, Gramma Tala, she sets off on a dangerous journey to save her people.
Along the way, Moana teams up with Maui, faces monsters like the greedy crab Tamatoa, and learns the ancient art of wayfinding. When Maui abandons her during the final confrontation with Te Kā, Moana finds strength from within and discovers that Te Kā is actually a transformed Te Fiti. By returning the Heart, Moana restores balance to the world. She returns to Motunui, where her people embrace their voyaging roots once again, with Moana as their new leader and master navigator.
